One area that I’m particularly interested in is increasing access to the cultural activities for individuals with special health care needs and their families. With that in mind I’ve begun working with the City of Seattle office of Arts and Culture and with the King County equivalent, 4Culture to learn what the real and perceived barriers are to access. Once that information is in hand we’ll work on finding ways to fill the service gap. I’d be interested to hear what barriers and/or successful accommodations you’ve found to going to places like museums or the theater. And, I thought I’d pass along the video in the following link. It shows that others are also working on this. By the way, I’ve found that the video seems to work with some search engines but not others. http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-38267678
