Director of the Fathers Network joins the steering committee of the First Year Families program of the Washington Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. The project will focus on promoting secure attachment between parents and children to establish the foundation for healthy social, emotional and physical development.
Fathers Network leads the creation of the Organizations Serving Special Dads International (OSSDI). This is an informal network of people doing the work of supporting men who have children with a disability or special health care need. The members can be seen on the Fathers Network website here.
March of 2021- Fathers Network Director joins a panel presentation of the Special Fathers Network, out of Chicago, on running father support groups.
Fathers Network Director joins the Family Advisor Team of the Accelerating Child Health Care Transformation effort. This is an effort to identify strategies to support child health care transformation and the family advisors will work in partnership with 12 pediatric practices from across the country. This is a project of the Center for Health Care Strategies which is a nonprofit policy center committed to improving health care for people with low incomes.
November of 2021 -Fathers Network Director joins a panel on the issue of the Engagement of Fathers at the Parent to Parent National Leadership Conference.
2021 Seattle Rare Disease Fair includes a presentation by the Director of the Fathers Network.
WSFN Director joins the Seattle Theatre Group’s Community Advisory Group (CAG). The advisory group creates and holds space for the greater Puget Sound BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Disabled and/or Neurodivergent Communities to gather and converse; empowering individuals to participate, share knowledge and support the art they want to experience; thereby making STG venues and programs safe and accessible for all.
