Hello, I’m writing to ask for your participation in a video project being done by our WA State Fathers Network. The idea is to create a video that will:
- Give dads the opportunity to show and tell others what their child with special needs means to them
- Create something inspirational about the involvement of dads in the lives of their children
- Create something that helps market the Fathers Network
A pilot of this video has been done and can be seen here. It gives you an idea of the concept but now we want to make it quicker and with more photos (we’re hoping for 100). As in the pilot, we’d also like to include some quotes from dads.
My request is that you send me a photo of you and your child who has special needs (and a quote, if you’re so inclined). If you don’t have a quote please don’t let that stop you from sending in a photo. I’d appreciate receiving your photo and/or quote by February 12. (Please note: if you send in a photo or quote you are giving permission for those items to be used in this video which will be used for promotion/advertisement of the Washington State Fathers Network). - A photo of your family doing something together
Quote ideas (one to two sentences):
- How has having a child with special needs affected you?
- What does the moment in this picture mean to you?
- What would you like people to know about having a child with special needs?
